Mortgage Home Loan Advisor (Base+Commission)
This role requires you to spend more than 80% of your time outside of your office—meeting new people and helping prospective borrowers finance a new home.
Responsibilities- Sourcing leads for mortgage home loans.
- Meet with prospective borrowers to obtain loan applications, explain the application process, fees, and available programs.
- Analyze prospective borrowers’ financial status (income and debt) by obtaining required paperwork, notifying borrowers of credit report/appraisals, and determining feasibility of the mortgage loan.
- Submit completed applications and confer with underwriters to resolve mortgage application concerns.
- Advise borrowers on underwriting decisions, work with the borrower and underwriter to ensure conditions are met.
- If a loan is denied, work with the processor and borrower to reconstruct the loan under a different program.
- Coordinate loan closing, escrow signing, ordering of loan documents, and assist borrowers during closing.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training.
- Proficiency with Windows‑based software.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to drive.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent math skills.
- Registered under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) – required upon hire.
- Self‑motivated and extremely detail oriented.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
The salary range for this role is based on factors such as prior experience, skill set, training, and internal business & organizational considerations. The range varies by geographic location and may differ for remote positions. Compensation decisions are made on a case‑by‑case basis.
BenefitsHybrid work environment: employees may work at an alternate location depending on job and team needs, with at least two full days required in the office for client‑facing teams.
