We are seeking an Accountant to support the financial operations of True North Advisors. In this role, you will maintain accurate accounting records, assist with the monthly closing, manage accounts payable, and support client billing and budget reporting. The ideal candidate has at least two years of accounting experience, including one year using Quick Books. Experience in wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain the general ledger and record transactions accurately
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, accruals, and key accounts
- Support month-end close and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and process client billing per fee schedules and agreements
- Process accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, and payments
- Track and report on team and individual budgets
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports for management
- Support forecasting and variance analysis
- Use Quick Books as the primary accounting system
- Use Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis
- Follow internal controls and documentation standards for an RIA environment
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory exams as needed
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- At least two years of accounting experience required
- At least one year of Quick Books or Addepar client billing experience required
- Experience with advisory fee billing and client invoicing strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, formulas, and data analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
