About the Team

The UMB Registered Fund team is at the forefront of managing accounting, tax, audit, and operational tasks for mutual fund and collective trust clients.

In the role of Junior Fund Accountant
, you will play a vital part in the daily calculation of the net asset value (NAV) for multiple mutual funds, alongside executing various accounting and reconciliation tasks.

• Overseeing general ledger accounting functions across multiple funds.
• Preparing and reviewing preliminary trial balances and NAV calculations.
• Monitoring and analyzing accruals for income and expenses to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Evaluating corporate actions for adherence to GAAP standards.
• Reconciling cash settlements with custodian and prime broker records.
• Reconciling position quantities against custodian and prime broker records.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies in cash and positions through collaboration with custodians, prime brokers, transfer agencies, advisors, and portfolio managers/traders.
• Reviewing trade detail exceptions to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Analyzing security pricing exceptions to guarantee proper prices are utilized in NAV calculations.
• Partnering with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with SEC regulations, IRS requirements, and GAAP reporting standards.
• Coordinating audit materials and providing responses to audit inquiries.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Investment Banking, Economics, or International Business.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST, with in-office work from Monday to Thursday and remote work on Fridays, with potential for additional remote days based on your location.

$43,000.00 - $82,590.00. Please note that this range reflects UMB's standard for this role, with actual compensation varying by geographic location, experience, and other relevant factors. Full earning potential may exceed this range.
