Job Description
The Non‑Profit Director of Finance with ETSS in Columbus, OH will oversee all budget and finance activities, including accounting (AR, AP, payroll), budgeting, and fiscal management. The role reports directly to the President & CEO and involves coordinating with the Finance Committee, managing audits, and communicating financial positions to senior leadership.
Responsibilities- Oversee all financial activity and planning.
- Manage and oversee fiscal and accounting functions, including reconciliation of outside checking accounts.
- Supervise and manage all accounting and fiscal management staff.
- Ensure financial processes are adequately documented and manage the G&A pool, space pool, fringe benefit pool, and corporate account.
- Review grant award documents and contractual instruments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor fiscal policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate fiscal operations and comply with city, county, state, and federal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of HR.
- Negotiate lines of credit with banks and other financial institutions and ensure adequate working capital for smooth transactions and payroll.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors.
- Passion for the mission and vision of ETSS.
- Non‑profit experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Staff supervision and management experience required.
- Project management or government contractor environment experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and federal guidance (including 2‑CFR Subtitle A Chapter II and multiple OMB circulars).
- Working knowledge of an organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment.
