Actuarial Analyst II – The Auto Club Group

Salary
- Analyze data, develop material and prepare appropriate communications
- Compile and organize data for actuarial review
- Prepare reports, proposals, system documents, filing support and documentation files
- Provide support to projects as required
- Formulate and interpret mathematical rate making and/or reserving models using available tools
- Perform ad hoc analyses, including classification, inflation, and tail factor analyses, for current and future products
- Support state and regulatory filings and respond to inquiries from auditors/DOIs
- Work with IT and business technical support in gathering and verifying data for rate indications, rate revisions, reserve indications and special projects
- Apply actuarial methods and principles to obtain indications, complete projects, analyze results and make recommendations
- Research suitable trend indications for analysis
- Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and make oral presentations to business units
- Represent the department on inter‑department teams
- Execute the scheduled rate reviews and indications to ensure rates are adequate, not excessive or unfairly discriminatory and internally consistent with experience
- Analyze and prepare competitive product and rate comparison reports
- Analyze competitor's rate structures and coverage
- Develop and prepare competitor rate manual analysis
Actuarial Analyst II will earn a competitive salary of $75k – $90k annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related field; successful completion of two or more actuarial examinations; maintain eligibility in the Actuarial Professional Development Program following department guidelines.
18 months (1.5 years) of experience in an actuarial environment to include:
- Analyzing technical studies and data and drawing sound conclusions
- Calculating premium or reserves for new or existing products
- Performing research and statistical analysis to complete assignments
- PC software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Statistical software tools and/or statistical modeling concepts to develop recommendations and draw conclusions.
Skills and Ability- Prepare presentation of material
- Manage workflow to achieve multiple goals
- Work individually and as part of a team
- Apply actuarial methods and principles to obtain indications, complete projects, analyze results and make recommendations
Knowledge of insurance industry terminology and concepts.
Work EnvironmentThis is a hybrid work arrangement, with a mix of office and remote work. Employees may be required to come into the office on a weekly, monthly, or as‑needed basis for key meetings and collaborative activities.
