Associate Planner – Zynergy Retirement Planning

Location:

Red Bank, New Jersey | Type:
Full Time | Salary: $77,000 – $88,000 (annual) + quarterly incentive pool

Position Overview

This role requires a current CFP designation or completion within 6 months. Planners in this role are emerging member‑relationship leaders who balance direct member responsibility with continued collaboration alongside more senior planners. As an Associate Planner, you will support the planning team and help deliver a high‑quality member experience. You will spend significant time working directly with members, preparing for meetings, gathering and organizing data, following through on action items after meetings, and assisting with financial‑planning analyses.

Planners attend member meetings alongside Lead and Senior Planners and gradually take on greater responsibility as experience and technical knowledge grow. Over time, you will continue developing toward independently managing more member relationships. This role works closely with the entire planning team and is designed for someone who enjoys learning, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to build a long‑term career in financial planning.

There are no business‑development or sales expectations. Your focus will be on learning our planning process, supporting the planning team, and developing the skills needed to lead member relationships independently.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare for member meetings by organizing financial information, reviewing planning details, and coordinating meeting materials.
  • Attend member meetings, take notes, and assist with follow‑up tasks and action items.
  • Participate in member meetings and progressively be able to lead.
  • Gather, input, and maintain member financial data within planning software and CRM system.
  • Develop and implement financial plans.
  • Monitor and maintain member investment accounts and planning updates.
  • Respond promptly to member inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to ensure a consistent and organized member experience.
  • Continue developing financial‑planning knowledge, technical skills, and communication abilities.
  • Participate in training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Progressively take on additional planning responsibility and member‑relationship management as experience grows.

  • Growth‑mindset attitude with a desire to learn and develop professionally.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently.
  • Interest in comprehensive financial planning and retirement planning.
  • Experience with Salesforce, eMoney, Orion/Eclipse, or Schwab platforms is helpful but not required.
Benefits
  • Salary range $77,000 – $88,000 depending on experience, licensing, and certifications.
  • Quarterly incentive pool based on company performance.
  • 401(k) and 401(k) match.
  • Employee discount on services.
  • Dental, vision, and health insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Professional development assistance.
  • Work from home on Monday and Friday with the exception of meeting seasons (September & February).
  • Office location closure on holiday Fridays (Memorial Day – Labor Day and November – December).
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; finance, accounting, business, or related field preferred.
  • Complete CFP within 6 months of start or currently hold CFP designation.
