Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid Tax Accountant role based in St George, UT, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Tax Accountant will prepare and review individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial information, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements to support tax filings.
The role will also involve tax planning, identifying opportunities to optimize tax positions, and providing clear, compliant recommendations to financial advisors and their clients. The Tax Accountant will research tax issues, stay current with changes in tax law, maintain organized documentation, and collaborate with internal teams and advisor partners to deliver timely, high-quality service.
- Strong tax technical skills, including Tax and Tax Compliance, with the ability to interpret and apply current tax laws and regulations.
- Hands‑on experience in Tax Preparation for individuals and businesses, including reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.
- Solid Accounting knowledge, including general ledger work and familiarity with Financial Statements and their tax implications.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software, as well as strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is required.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to explain tax concepts to non‑specialist stakeholders.
- Experience working with or alongside financial advisory firms is a plus, as is prior experience in public accounting or a tax‑focused role.
