Job Profile:

Financial Analyst I

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst position is located within the Contracts and Finance department and reports to the Finance Manager. This position will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, monitoring, and forecasting financial data to ensure responsible stewardship of WIDA's financial resources.

The Financial Analyst will use WIDA's financial planning and analysis software to provide leadership with the best possible data to support informed decision-making. This role will also serve as the primary contact for assigned department leadership on all matters, contracts, and finance, and act as a finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cross-departmental projects as assigned.

Additional responsibilities include performing procurement-related activities and invoicing customers as required. Successful candidates will be able to act as a trusted business partner to other WIDA team members, serving as an expert in the School of Education and the University of Wisconsin's finance policies and procedures.

Remote work is an option for this position on a voluntary basis; however, it is important to note that this role is headquartered in Madison, WI, and the tasks of the position require occasional work-related travel. If working remotely out-of-state, travel back to UW-Madison would not be reimbursable, and other business travel will require cost comparisons between your home and Madison, WI.

UW Travel Policy and Remote Work Policies outline business travel requirements for fully remote employees, and WIDA is committed to supporting employees with their business travel and minimizing or eliminating out-of-pocket expenses whenever possible. Please review UW Remote Work Policy UW5087, in particular, Section III, Part G which addresses an employee's Headquarters Location. We will be happy to support and address questions about remote work or travel during the interview process.

WIDA operates in a Windows-based environment and a Dell PC laptop will be issued for use in this role. Software and virtual connection tools that are critical to our work dictate that WIDA staff work on a PC.
