At Leading Educators, we’re seeking an experienced nonprofit finance and grants professional to strengthen and lead the financial management and compliance operations of our growing grants portfolio.
Responsibilities- Manage the post-award financial lifecycle of grants.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable nonprofit, federal, and state financial standards.
- Prepare and submit grant-related financial reporting and compliance documentation.
- Design and optimize financial systems and workflows to reduce manual work and organizational risk.
- Track and account for multi-year, multi-funder grants independently.
- Act as a strategic financial partner across Finance, Development, and Program teams.
- Build structure, clarity, and accountability within grants financial management.
- Balance detailed financial work while supporting broader organizational priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit finance, grants accounting, grants compliance, or advanced grants management experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with accounting, finance, audit, or nonprofit compliance backgrounds.
- Proven experience independently managing complex grant agreements and restricted funding.
- Demonstrated ability to design and improve financial systems and operational workflows.
- Strong technical proficiency with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, or comparable financial systems.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely with occasional national travel (1–3 trips per year).
- CPA credential or equivalent accounting/finance expertise strongly preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit audit, government grants, or compliance environments preferred.
- This remote position requires travel 1–3 times per year for national retreats, programming, job-related travel, or professional development.
- Outside of the above travel, employees will work from a home office located anywhere within the U.S.
Base salary range: $87,243 to $111,037 per year. Standard starting salary is $99,140, adjustable up to a maximum of $104,239 based on experience above the minimum requirement.
