** What you'll be doing
** The Trust Investment Management & Oversight unit is a dynamic team within CIBC Private Wealth Management’s Wealth Solutions group, providing investment management services and oversight to clients of CIBC Trust Corporation. As the Director, Indigenous Trust Investment Oversight, you’ll lead all Indigenous Trust investment oversight activities, ensuring that CIBC Trust fulfills its fiduciary duties for this important client segment. You’ll work closely with Indigenous Trust Management and Administration, Indigenous Markets Relationship Managers, and other CIBC partners to address investment matters for both existing and prospective Indigenous Trust clients.
Your role will include conducting client due diligence, collaborating with key stakeholders to understand their needs, and ensuring investment policies align with governing trust documents. You’ll also oversee investment discussions, negotiate solutions, and play a key role in shaping the future of investment oversight for Indigenous Trusts at CIBC Trust. A critical part of your responsibilities will be leading thorough quarterly account reviews and ensuring ongoing compliance with each client’s Investment Policy Statement, reinforcing prudent oversight and best practices.

* The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $111,060 to $152,710.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

** How you'll succeed**
* ** Stay informed and share expertise** – Remain up to date on market activities, investment trends, and Indigenous issues to maintain your investment knowledge and credibility. Use your expertise to support, guide, and train internal team members, clients, and stakeholders.
* ** Build and manage relationships** – Establish and nurture relationships with internal partners, external clients, and a broad network of advisors and stakeholders. Communicate, negotiate, and resolve complex investment issues with objectivity, empathy, and sound judgment. Support presentations alongside relationship management team members.
* ** Develop and oversee investment policies** – Collaborate with stakeholders to develop suitable investment policies and frameworks for client engagements. Review and edit key governing documents such as Trust Agreements, Investment Policy Statements, and Investment Management Agreements. Assess investment products and plans for prudence and suitability.
* ** Lead quarterly account reviews and ensure compliance** – Conduct comprehensive quarterly reviews of client accounts, ensuring all portfolios are monitored and evaluated against each client’s Investment Policy Statement.
