Summary
The Commercial Portfolio Manager Portfolio Manager II – CIP is considered a market and industry resource, providing expertise and advisory guidance in complex debt and capital solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities- Manages a portfolio of commercial customers in partnership with the relationship manager.
- Has a highly visible role in managing the customer relationship along with the relationship manager assigned to the account.
- Services, deepens, and retains assigned profitable customer relationships by proactively evaluating and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities.
- Optimizes customer relationships working directly with Relationship Managers to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
- Owns primary responsibility for the credit quality and monitoring of Commercial portfolio risks; responsible for rating new credits and updating risk grades in the assigned portfolio.
- Responsible for underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and ongoing credit quality of the assigned portfolio.
- Works directly with the Team Leader, Relationship Managers, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer.
- Effectively presents proposed credit actions in written analysis documents and verbally to Senior Loan Committee as needed.
- Conducts portfolio reviews with senior management.
- Functions in the team environment, collaborating with teams outside of direct reporting lines; participates in special projects.
- Mentors Credit Analysts to develop required competencies and experience.
- Prioritizes work to meet customer expectations.
- Analyzes existing portfolio to identify trends and opportunities.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of market and industry trends.
- Serves as a mentor/coach to junior portfolio managers, credit analysts, and relationship managers.
- Interacts with senior leadership, clients and prospects on a professional consultative basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in Commercial Banking.
- Formal credit training.
- Proven and in-depth knowledge of credit products, risk assessment and debt structuring.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)
