Our client is a market leader in next-generation, multi-channel trading software, systems, and liquidity services, delivered on a B2B basis to a global network of partners. Their technology underpins every aspect of trading platforms and customer relationship management for clients operating in the brokerage, FX, and CFD space, and they've spent years setting the bar for the industry.
As the business continues to scale, our client is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join their Singapore finance function. This is a hands‑on role covering full‑set accounting, client fund reconciliations, and regulatory compliance — ideal for someone who wants real ownership over financial reporting rather than a narrow, siloed function.
It’s a great fit for an accountant from a brokerage or trading background who’s comfortable with both the technical accounting and the data side — using tools like Python, SQL, or VBA to manage large datasets and drive efficiency in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain full‑set accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting with a strong focus on compliance and internal controls
- Prepare intercompany invoices in line with transfer pricing rules and internal cost allocation policy
- Coordinate with external auditors to complete annual audits and resolve issues promptly
- Liaise with tax agents on local tax compliance, filing, planning, and risk management
- Handle client deposit and withdrawal transactions accurately and promptly
- Perform daily bank account reconciliations for client fund movements, ensuring alignment with accounting records and compliance with Australian ASIC regulatory requirements
- Perform daily reconciliations of client equity balances across internal systems, trading platforms, and bank accounts
- Investigate, analyse, and resolve reconciliation breaks and discrepancies in a timely manner
- Conduct financial performance analysis, including profit/loss, cost management, and variance analysis
- Provide timely, insightful reports to support strategic decision‑making
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on annual budgeting, ensuring alignment with financial objectives
- Use advanced Excel, VBA, Python, or SQL to manage large datasets, automate processes, and improve reporting accuracy
- Proactively identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and process inefficiencies to support a smooth financial close
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting; prior experience in brokerage, FX, or CFD industry preferred
- Proven experience in full‑set accounting and handling complex financial structures
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, with experience liaising with external auditors and regulators
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP software such as SAP or Xero
- Advanced Excel skills, with hands‑on experience in VBA, Python, SQL, or similar
- Fluent English;
Mandarin proficiency is a plus - Medical insurance (covers dental and doctor visits)
