Schedule: Full‑time | Monday–Friday
Work Location Status: Fully on‑site for the first 30‑90 days at the Collinsville, IL branch. After successful completion of probationary period, position may be eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Employees in hybrid or remote roles may be required to return on‑site periodically for meetings, events, or other work‑related needs as determined by their manager.
About the RoleWithin authorized limits and in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, collects and analyzes information, calculates and verifies data, and recommends approval of borrower’s applications for open and closed‑end mortgages. In addition to being well‑versed in all processing tasks performed by the Mortgage department, the Mortgage Loan Processor II trains all incoming Mortgage Loan Processor employees and provides guidance and advice to peers.

- Process mortgage applications received via the web, branch personnel, or from Home Loan Advisors and request specified information for loan application.
- Submit applicant information through online underwriting tool to verify acceptance by secondary market.
- Analyze applicant financial status, credit profile, and evaluate to determine feasibility of granting loan.
- Maintain regular and consistent contact with member and Home Loan Advisor throughout processing term.
- Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to internal policy, applicable regulations and secondary market guidelines.
- Analyze potential lending opportunities in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union’s lending portfolio.
- Request title insurance commitment and reviews to insure the interest of the credit union and the member are protected in all transactions. Obtain additional documentation as required.
- Ensure compliance with final underwriting and appraisal conditions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of Mortgage processing experience.
- Experience processing complex loans (e.g. government loans, self‑employment borrowers, and income analysis requiring interpretation).
- Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Office products.
