Job Overview
Lead and coordinate the operational and day‑to‑day management of accounting and reporting activities within the Finance Accounting Operations team.
Responsibilities include ensuring an accurate and timely month‑end close, preparing regulatory returns, supporting the annual external audit, and supporting finance business partners. The role involves analysing, reviewing, and approving team outputs, implementing changes and policies, and providing high‑level business analysis and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support business operations.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in reporting processes.
- Manage day‑to‑day delivery of team services to meet specific needs of the business.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on financial matters.
- Prepare regulatory returns and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Drive process optimisation and efficiency targets.
- Maintain effective financial controls.
- Support development and maintenance of financial systems and procedures.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts for the organisation.
- Significant accounting experience within a complex financial services organisation, and sound understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS 17).
- People management experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Background in planning and forecasting processes, monthly analyses and reports, building complex financial models, and preparing ad‑hoc financial projections and analysis.
- Experience of technical transformation processes and change management.
- Experience working within a global team, leading and supporting continuous improvement in reporting processes and financial controls.
- Project management and change management experience.
- Proven capability to take active accountability for workload and to manage people at all levels of an organization.
