- Accountable for managing Health Ministry (HM) and Market Record to Report (R2R) shared services responsibilities within the area of assignment.
- Direct overall management of financial systems and processes to ensure timely and credible accounting information is generated during the monthly financial close, and to support production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for HM and Markets.
- Interact directly with senior management and department directors to ensure accounting services are available and reliable.
- Produce credible, timely, and accurate financial information and manage internal controls, verify integrity and accuracy of financial information, safeguard organizational assets, and develop efficient business processes to support accounting operations.
- Provide functional expertise and ensure fulfillment of performance and service standards; identify, define, and solve complex problems impacting the R2R function.
- Lead and manage a diverse staff in a matrix environment, encouraging growth and development across priorities and resource allocation.
- Guide staff on technical accounting questions and compliance; develop, implement, and monitor internal controls related to financial statement close processes.
- Recruit, interview, and select staff in collaboration with the Regional Controller.
- Support Centers of Expertise (COE) functions, including asset management, leases, contributions, grants, joint ventures, and debt compliance/reporting; prepare financial reports for donors and grantors.
- Utilize measurements of quality and productivity to evaluate systems and staffing; review and approve monthly accounting entries for input into the People Soft G/L or current general ledger system.
- Keep the Regional Controller informed of any significant changes or decisions; implement best practices for financial and managerial reporting to ensure timely analysis of performance for HM and Markets.
- Assist the Regional Controller in coordinating internal and external audits, including federal awards audit requirements and other HM‑specific audit needs.
- Complete federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements; accumulate annual 990 and other tax returns and financial information for community benefit reporting.
- Streamline accounting and reporting processes, improve organizational capability, and enhance financial stewardship to support system, HM, and Market objectives.
- Prepare year‑end financial reporting package and audit work papers; demonstrate strong project management skills and success in managing large‑scale projects.
- Review financial analytics, research accounting implications for business relationships and transactions, develop operational processes for recording transactions in accordance with GAAP, and perform various analyses and management reports.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field of study (or equivalent combination of education and experience such as long tenure in health care accounting or HFMA certifications).
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of accounting experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential.
- Experience in a significant, complex, matrixed organization with $100million or more in annual revenue and consolidated financial statements preferred.
- Previous managerial experience preferred.
Hourly Pay Range: $50.80 – $83.81
