Job Overview
This role oversees ERCOT’s Market Credit Department, leading its strategy, processes, and operations.
Responsibilities- Lead development and enhancement of ERCOT credit methodology, processes, and capabilities.
- Assess market participant creditworthiness and maintain appropriate risk mitigation measures, including collateral, liens, etc.
- Handle inquiries from Market Participants and manage daily collateral transactions.
- Ensure vendors meet financial requirements and internal controls over credit processes are maintained.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management of staff; hire and lead department personnel.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate issues and improve processes.
- Conduct credit risk assessments, review financial positions, and establish collateral requirements.
- Monitor market participants’ calculated exposure daily and provide credit risk reports to management.
- Maintain and enforce collateral documentation; pursue collections of unpaid accounts.
- Coordinate credit system enhancements, testing, and implementation of credit policies.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders (Senior Management, Settlements, Legal, Treasury, PUCT, etc.) concerning credit matters.
- Coordinate Credit Work Group meetings and activities.
- Implement process improvements and explore automation opportunities.
- Ensure timely and effective credit reporting.
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible credit management, financial, settlements, or market operations experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role over and above degree requirements.
- Experience in the electric utility, energy, or ISO/RTO industries.
- Mathematical, financial, and accounting competency sufficient to understand financial statements and credit assessment concepts.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (required if not already achieved).
The position is based in Taylor, TX, with a requirement to be on‑site a minimum of two days per week. Remote work is possible from a Texas residence; employees may choose additional on‑site work as needed.
SalaryExpected Salary Range: $138,000 - $190,000.
