About the Role Herring Bank is seeking an entrepreneurial, revenue-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to help expand our Wealth Management and Trust Services platform.
This is a production-focused role designed for a high-performing professional who thrives in a growth environment. The BDO will drive new fee revenue across investment management, trust services, liquidity solutions, retirement plans, and related bank products through both self-sourced relationships and internal partnerships.
This is an opportunity to build something meaningful within a growing community bank while playing a direct role in shaping the future of our wealth platform.
What You’ll Do- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on revenue growth.
- Generate new client relationships across investment management, trust, and institutional solutions.
- Identify and pursue opportunities with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, institutions, and specialty pools.
- Build and maintain relationships with centers of influence (CPAs, attorneys, consultants).
- Partner with commercial and retail banking teams to strengthen referral pipelines.
- Collaborate with Trust, Investment, Capital Markets, and Operations teams to structure client solutions.
- Contribute to the expansion of liquidity, retirement, and enhanced cash product offerings.
- Manage and grow an existing or transferable portfolio, where applicable.
- Support the continued growth and scalability of the Bank’s wealth platform.
- 5+ years of experience in wealth management, trust services, investment advisory, or institutional sales.
- Demonstrated success sourcing and closing new revenue-producing relationships.
- Strong professional network and market presence.
- Experience working across multiple financial product lines is preferred.
- Securities licensing required or ability to obtain.
- CFP, CTFA or similar credentials preferred.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for performance and measurable results.
This is a remote position; however, we have a strong preference for candidates located in the DFW, Houston, or Colorado Springs markets.
