Everest Group, Ltd. seeks a Vice President to serve as a Portfolio Manager of Investments. The role involves partnering with investment professionals and colleagues across finance, treasury, legal, tax, technology, and audit to provide insight in a collaborative environment. The portfolio manager will directly manage portfolio, trading, research and analysis across agency and non‑agency mortgage‑backed securities, and enhance analytical models and platforms that support structured credit fixed income investing.
This is a hands‑on role that offers ownership, intellectual challenge, and exposure to senior investment leadership. It is a hybrid position requiring on‑site presence at Warren, NJ or New York City for three days per week and remote work for two days.
- Monitors fixed income markets for relative value opportunities.
- Pitches new fixed income trade ideas to the Head of Internal Investments and Chief Investment Officer.
- Performs regular surveillance on existing fixed income holdings.
- Trades of fixed income securities with a focus on agency and non‑agency RMBS.
- Maintains relationships with a wide variety of broker dealers to maximize access to assets, liquidity, and research.
- Supports the reporting function with analysis as needed for the investment team and the board.
- Trains and cross‑trains junior staff in internal fixed income as directed by the Chief Investment Officer or Head of Internal Investments.
- Provides ad‑hoc analytical and trading support as needed.
- Assigns project work to interns as needed.
- Uses network to stay on top of industry best practices.
- Works across departments in a professional and positive manner to achieve goals.
- Coordinates purchasing securities for collateral pledging as dictated or needed by the middle office.
- 6–10 years of investments‑related experience, with a minimum of 6 years required; ideal candidates will have 8+ years.
- Direct, hands‑on experience (minimum 6–12 months) trading and/or managing portfolios of Agency residential mortgage‑backed securities (RMBS). Deeper agency RMBS experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interest in and enthusiasm for Agency RMBS, including a willingness to engage with the complexity of the sector.
- MBA from a top‑tier program or CFA designation preferred.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across investment, trading, and operations teams.
The base salary range for this position is $215,000 - $240,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
