The Advisor Family Business & Entrepreneurs role is a full-time hybrid position based in Honolulu, HI, with a blend of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on advising family-owned businesses and entrepreneurial clients on a wide range of financial needs, including banking solutions, capital structures, succession planning, and long-term wealth strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients to understand their goals, conducting financial and business analyses, and developing tailored advisory recommendations.
The advisor collaborates with internal partners across commercial banking, wealth management, and other specialized teams to deliver integrated solutions. Additional duties include preparing presentations and proposals, monitoring client portfolios and business performance, supporting relationship management activities, and staying current with market trends, regulations, and best practices relevant to family enterprises and entrepreneurs.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements, assess business performance, and evaluate risk.
- Consulting and management consulting capabilities to diagnose client needs, structure advisory engagements, and drive strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders and facilitate collaborative discussions.
- Solid finance knowledge, including corporate finance fundamentals, credit and lending concepts, and familiarity with wealth and succession planning considerations.
- Experience advising or working with family-owned businesses, closely held companies, or entrepreneurial ventures is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field; advanced credentials (e.g., MBA, CFA, CFP) are a plus.
- Proven relationship management skills, with a client-centric mindset and the ability to build trust over the long term.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
