Financial Controller

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in an architecture, engineering, planning, consulting or government contracting environment
• 4+ years managing staff
• Experience supporting finance and contracts teams in accounting for projects in accordance with FAR and DCAA guidelines
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• 1+ years experience in a Controller role
• Previous work in a company of 300+ employees, $40m+ gross revenue, and handling 500+ monthly invoices in the most recent Controller position
• Recent position in the A+E (AEP) field
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (CPA preferred)
• Proficiency in Deltek Vision or VantagePoint preferred

• Report directly to the CFO and serve as the process owner for all accounting functions, ensuring the company’s financial health and growth readiness
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close and consolidation processes
• Manage payroll, billing, and accounts payable teams, and collaborate with the Contracts department to maintain compliance with contractual, statutory tax, and FAR requirements
• Create new processes and optimize existing accounting procedures through expertise and experience
