Duties The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a/an Financial Analyst, you will:
Perform financial analyses and evaluation, and is responsible for planning, organizing and independently completing duties on assigned projects which are complex and are above average difficulty. Remote monitor or field monitor all programs in accordance with applicable monitoring handbooks, circulars, guidelines, instructional memos, regulations or policy memoranda, etc. Maintain financial status records and be well versed in all aspects of financial management systems grantees use to receive HUD funds and report their utilization, including IDIS.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Candidates will be selected for a job assigned to one of the official duty stations listed in this announcement. Failure to report to duty at the location for which the candidate is selected may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
Key Requirements:
Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. A one year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Public Trust
- Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. Experience:
For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Applying generally accepted auditing standards for conducting grants management oversight.; AND Utilizing financial systems and technology in conducting financial monitoring of grantee activities and audit resolutions. Specialized
Experience:
For the GS-11 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Ensuring financial accountability and compliance with rules, regulations, laws and policies.; AND Analyzing financial resources, data and reporting/accounting systems and developing/recommending solutions to problems. OR You may substitute a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M, if related. Degree program must have a major study in one of the following: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural…
