Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Non-QM DSCR Underwriter to join our mortgage underwriting team. The candidate will be responsible for underwriting Non-QM residential mortgage loans, primarily focusing on DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) products. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines, risk assessment, income analysis, and investor requirements.

• Review and underwrite Non-QM and DSCR loan applications in accordance with investor and company guidelines.
• Analyze property cash flow, rental income, and DSCR calculations.
• Evaluate credit reports, appraisal reports, title documents, and other loan-related documentation.
• Assess loan eligibility and identify potential risks.
• Issue loan approvals, conditions, suspensions, or declines based on underwriting findings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, investor, and company regulations.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and conditions to processors, account managers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and turnaround time standards.
• Stay updated with Non-QM lending products, investor overlays, and regulatory changes.

• 2+ years of experience in Mortgage Underwriting with exposure to Non-QM and DSCR products.
• Strong understanding of U.S. mortgage lending guidelines and underwriting processes.
• Experience reviewing credit, income, asset, and collateral documentation.
• Knowledge of DSCR calculations and investment property underwriting.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple files simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Encompass or similar Loan Origination Systems.
