Position: Actuarial Analyst (Hybrid to MA or REMOTE)

Position Overview

The Actuarial Analyst role within the Personal Lines Actuarial state pricing team supports analysis of results for all personal lines of business in 1-3 states. The team handles roughly $2.5B in annual earned premium.

What You Will Do
  • Acquire knowledge of basic actuarial concepts and methods pertinent to area of actuarial focus
  • Obtain proficiency in the various software applications required to perform daily work
  • Become comfortable with company data structure and definitions
  • Compile and categorize data and prepare exhibits
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of system specifications to implement required rate actions
  • Maintain rules and rating factors according to a rate review schedule, loss development analysis and pricing models to produce more accurate and better segmented individual risk pricing
  • Provide actuarial support on routine insurance department inquiries as needed
  • Effectively communicate technical analysis to business partners and upper management
  • Build relationships within and across functional areas
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and business partners in the completion of tasks
What You Need to Apply
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Zero to two years of experience in the actuarial or related discipline
  • One or more Casualty Actuarial Exams
  • Experience with modeling, coding, and using Microsoft Office and Excel preferred
  • Understanding of fundamental analytical concepts, practices and procedures
  • Familiarity with external agencies that influence core actuarial discipline
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks using established procedures and work under immediate supervision
  • Awareness of unusual situations and referral to more experienced team members
  • Openness to learning and expanding knowledge base
  • Analytical thinking skills

Compensation

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus, long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
