Where You Will Work
This remote position is based in or near Southwest Washington or Portland, Oregon, with regular travel required to on‑site events.
Pay RangeThe target annual pay range is $117,216 to $133,200, with the full range $106,560 to $159,840. Employees are eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour bilingual differential.
Job OverviewThis role develops, grows, and manages a portfolio of quality member business loan relationships to support the credit union’s strategic goals within the Washington and Oregon market areas.
What You’ll Do- Identify and develop new member business loan opportunities through networking and community involvement.
- Build profitable networks and establish professional relationships with members and centers of influence.
- Build a quality loan portfolio by negotiating terms within the credit union’s framework and adhering to all lending policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor rates and programs to strategically present credit union offerings.
- Conduct loan interviews and consultations, reviewing applications and financial documentation in collaboration with the Credit Analyst.
- Perform timely loan reviews, monitor delinquencies, and address potential concerns.
- Meet monthly loan production, profitability, and outbound calling goals.
- Maintain strong credit quality through ongoing portfolio management.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert on product knowledge and promote peak credit union products.
- Attend required meetings and events, and use assigned equipment responsibly.
- Secure work areas in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Provide support and mentorship to other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Commercial Lending.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
Qualifications- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a high‑volume, production‑oriented commercial lending role or equivalent. Valid driver’s license required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Risk Management Association (RMA) Lending Certifications.
- Knowledge of commercial lending guidelines, regulatory procedures, and laws.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Experience with investor commercial real estate, commercial & industrial lending, and business deposit products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong networking, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
- Negotiation and presentation skills with successful outside sales experience.
- Ability to evaluate collateral, pricing, and risk grades.
- Experience preparing written loan requests covering regulatory and credit union requirements.
- Ability to assess financial capacity of borrowers and identify strengths/weaknesses.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative teamwork.
- Ability to generate high volume of new loan originations while managing a sizable portfolio.
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis and borrower financial statements.
- Experience with financial services loan and documentation systems (e.g., Laser Pro, LOS).
- Direct experience in commercial lending and/or business development in the core market area.
