Job Title: Sr Retirement Plan Sales Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Retirement Plan Sales Consultant is responsible for delivering strategic guidance on 401(k) plan design to business owners and key decision-makers. This role requires deep expertise in 401(k) regulations, plan documentation, design structures, and the enrollment process. Building on the core responsibilities of the Retirement Plan Sales Consultant, the senior advisor serves as a subject matter expert, mentors junior team members, and plays a key role in enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of retirement plan services.

Functions
  • Provide plan design strategies for worksite employers regarding plan specifications, including eligibility and entry requirements, vesting schedules, and employer contributions and assist them in completing the required documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) and their respective 401(k) teams that refer the leads.
  • Conduct Investment Committee Meetings.
  • Introduce and review enrollment materials, such as required notices and disclosures, with participants.
  • Provide participants general investment education on the options available and suitable based on their investment goals, retirement horizon and risk tolerance.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on topics including, but not limited to, compliance, employer-level questions, plan design, plan enrollment, and plan changes.
  • Tailor plan proposals and plan designs to benefit the needs of the employer and the participants by highlighting cost savings, tax benefits, and explaining investment funds and fees.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using  and Microsoft Outlook to stay connected with clients, streamline processes, and organize data.
  • Maintain ongoing channels of communication with Onboarding representatives throughout the plan set up process to ensure plan compliance.
  • Remain diligent and proactive by periodically updating clients on the status of the plan set up process.
  • Conduct biweekly meetings with internal departments for pulse and updates.
  • Collaborate with Marketing respect to relevant material and resources for clients.
  • Provide plan consultation and webinars to various plan sponsors.

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retirement plan services with at least 2 years of experience in plan education or advisement.
  • 3+ years of  or similar CRM experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Series 65 Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs) license, required within 6 months of hire.
  • ASPPA or other industry specific designation highly preferred.
  • Extended sitting and computer work.
