The Senior Mortgage Processor is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Dallas, TX, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for managing a pipeline of mortgage loan files from initial application through closing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company, investor, and regulatory guidelines. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, verifying income, assets, credit, and collateral, and resolving any conditions or discrepancies in a timely manner.
The Senior Mortgage Processor collaborates closely with loan officers, underwriters, closers, and third‑party providers to move files efficiently through the process while maintaining strong communication with borrowers. This role also helps mentor less experienced processors, identifies opportunities to improve workflows, and supports a high level of customer satisfaction and on‑time closings.
- Extensive experience in residential mortgage processing, preferably in a senior or lead capacity, with a strong understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products.
- In‑depth knowledge of mortgage guidelines, investor and agency requirements, and relevant federal and state regulations (e.g., TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA).
- Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS), document imaging systems, and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools).
- Strong analytical and detail‑orientation skills, including the ability to review complex financial documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve file conditions efficiently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements clearly to borrowers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high‑volume pipeline, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Customer‑focused approach with professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to fair and equitable lending practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in the mortgage industry within a regulated, multi-state lending environment is highly beneficial.
