About the RoleAs a Loan Processor/Closer, you will independently process, coordinate, and close residential mortgage loans for the ODVA Home Loans Program, ensuring full compliance with state and federal lending regulations. You will serve as a key liaison for veteran borrowers and real estate professionals, providing clear guidance on applicable laws, program requirements, and loan terms.
Responsibilities- Verify application accuracy and prepare and issue required disclosures and closing documents.
- Ensure data integrity throughout the loan cycle and purchase completed loans from ODVA lending partners.
- Coordinate with mortgage applicants, lending partners, mortgage brokers, title and escrow companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely loan closings.
- Provide clear guidance to veteran borrowers on applicable laws, program requirements, and loan terms.
- Five years’ experience in preparing or analyzing residential, commercial, or public sector loan applications, including collections and foreclosure procedures.
- Five years’ experience in processing real estate transactions, including qualifying, evaluating, and extending credit to borrowers, and property inspections.
- Five years’ experience marketing, analyzing, servicing, or underwriting residential, commercial, or public sector loans.
- Five years’ experience in economic or community development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field substitutes for three years of experience; an Associate’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field substitutes for 18 months of experience.
- Experience processing and closing residential mortgage loans while ensuring compliance with state and federal lending regulations.
- Skill in reviewing, analyzing, and verifying loan applications, supporting documentation, and borrower eligibility requirements.
- Ability to interpret and apply mortgage lending laws, regulations, policies, and program guidelines to complex loan transactions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple loan files, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain loan terms, program requirements, and lending processes to diverse audiences.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint‑based criminal history background check through the Oregon (LEDS) and National (NCIC) systems.
- Valid Oregon or Washington State driver’s license and successful Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, with ongoing monitoring as required.
- Hybrid work schedule; eligible for both remote and office work, with logistics determined by the Hiring Manager.
- Required travel to ODVA’s Salem office and sites across the state on a periodic basis.
- ODVA will provide necessary hardware (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, cell phone) for remote work.
- Workday will time out after 15 minutes of inactivity; it performs best in Google Chrome.
