Financial Analyst
This position currently offers an initial $1,250 signing bonus and an additional $1,250 retention bonus upon completion of one year of satisfactory service. The bonus must be paid back if the employee leaves the department prior to completing one year in the position. This benefit is limited to new State of Michigan employees; current employees are ineligible.

The role is for a professional Financial Analyst in the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Enterprise Licensing section, conducting systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of financial documents, including personal and business bank accounts, investment portfolios, net‑worth statements, personal and business tax returns, and other financial data to determine the financial probity or integrity of license applicants or licensees.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board may consider alternate and remote work schedule requests based on the operational needs of the work area. MGCB's main office is located at 3062 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI, with satellite offices in Lansing, Greektown Casino, MGM Grand Detroit, and Motor City Casino. For positions approved to work remotely, MGCB requires a minimum of two in‑office days each week.
Employees working remotely must provide a secure, private work location with suitable lighting, furniture, utilities, and a high‑speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. MGCB will provide computers and other essential items needed to perform state work; remote workers are responsible for other components at their own expense.
Education and Experience
- Financial Analyst 9: No specific type or amount is required.
- Financial Analyst 10: One year of professional experience providing systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.
- Financial Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience providing systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
Education and Experience
College credits may be substituted pro‑rata (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.

The Board conducts a personal reference screening, criminal background check, drug testing, and federal and state tax transcript check, including fingerprinting, prior to a conditional offer of employment. A reference check from a current or previous supervisor is required, and must be included in the application.
