Senior IT Auditor

Responsibilities- Prepare and follow audit programs in accordance with the annual audit plan.
- Develop and improve test procedures for IT general controls, automated business process controls, and key reports.
- Perform technical assessments and analyses of systems, controls, and application systems using risk assessment techniques.
- Identify risk factors of automated functions and controls, related manual procedures, and the general control environment; analyze selected functions to determine exposures.
- Prepare, review, and execute organization‑wide IT Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) control tests, including testing of IT general controls, automated business process controls, and key reports.
- Maintain and update SOX testing tools with test procedures, results, evidence, and conclusions.
- Assist with development of SOX content and general controls.
- Analyze data for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or non‑compliance with law, government regulations, and management policies.
- Escalate issues to management and present audit findings for report development.
- Observe departmental procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Complete audit files with working papers referenced to audit programs.
- Liaise with external auditors to communicate information and resolve issues.
- Maintain audit files, ensuring they contain planning memos, programs, and reports; follow up to ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
- Assist in planning the scope of audits and related audit programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service, promote positive collaboration, and support department standards.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all company information.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, report potential issues to management.
- Perform all job duties safely and responsibly.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA, CIA, CITP, or CISA certification strongly desired.
- Minimum of two years’ experience with SOX 404 compliance and internal controls evaluation using a recognized framework (e.g., COSO, COBIT, NIST).
- Familiarity with PCI Data Security Standards version 3.1 required.
- Minimum of three years combined technology and internal audit experience or training in public accounting or internal audit.
- Experience with gaming and/or pari‑mutuel wagering standards preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in arithmetic calculations, rate, ratio, percent, and graph interpretation.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Strong written reporting skills, including business correspondence and procedural manuals.
- Diplomatic problem‑solving and conflict resolution with guests, staff, and colleagues.
- Maintain confidentiality and high professionalism at all times.
