The Director of Finance is a full‑time contract, hybrid role based in Center City Philadelphia, with flexibility to work from home. This role oversees financial planning and analysis, guides budgeting and forecasting, and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting. The Director of Finance will prepare, review, and interpret financial statements, deliver strategic insights to leadership, and support key decision‑making.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- Processing monthly journal entries
- Monitoring cash flow
- Maintaining financial controls
- Coordinating with tax and accounting partners
- Preparing dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting annual audits
The role also contributes to process improvements, financial risk assessments, and the development of best practices that strengthen clients’ financial operations. This role requires candidates to be local to the Philadelphia area and able to work on‑site as needed; relocation assistance is not provided. For the right candidate, this role can transition from a contract engagement into a permanent placement.
Qualifications- Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Expertise in financial planning and forecasting, with experience building and managing budgets.
- Hands‑on experience with financial statements and reporting, including familiarity with GAAP and compliance‑focused practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA certification a plus.
- Proficiency with financial software and Excel; familiarity with Sage Intacct a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
- 7–10+ years of experience recommended.
- Must currently reside in the Philadelphia metro area, or be able to commute to Center City Philadelphia, without relocation assistance.
