Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Line Slip Solutions is transforming how Fortune 1000 companies manage and leverage commercial insurance data — replacing manual processes and scattered spreadsheets with a purpose-built Risk Intelligence Platform.

As we scale our business, we’re hiring a Director of Finance to build and lead a best-in-class finance function. This role sits at the center of the business: owning FP&A, guiding strategic decisions, and ensuring financial rigor as we grow.

You’ll work closely with the executive team and have a direct impact on how we allocate capital, measure performance, and execute against our growth strategy.

This is an ideal role for someone who combines analytical depth, operational excellence, and a bias toward hands‑on leadership—and who wants to help shape the trajectory of a high‑growth company. This is a fully remote position; preference will be given to candidates on the East Coast of the United States.

This is a direct hire role—no third parties or agencies.

What You’ll Own Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Own the development and execution of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long‑term financial plans.
  • Build clear, decision‑driving financial models to support pricing, hiring and investment decisions.
  • Define and track key SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, cohort performance).
  • Translate data into insight for leadership and investors.
Accounting & Compliance
  • Oversee accounting via external partners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate GAAP reporting.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Lead audit, tax, and compliance activities.
Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with the executive team to support growth strategies, product launches, and market expansion.
  • Build scenario modeling and risk analysis for potential business opportunities.
Operational Excellence
  • Optimize cash flow management and ensure proper allocation of resources.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to manage budgets and improve financial discipline across the organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
What We’re Looking For Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification a plus.
Experience
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Experience working in a PE- or VC-backed company.
  • Strong preference for experience in SaaS or subscription‑based business models.
  • Proven track record in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Skills & Competencies
  • Deep fluency in SaaS metrics and business models.
  • Advanced modeling skills; highly proficient in financial tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, and BI platforms).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail‑oriented and highly organized, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Why Line Slip
  • Mission‑driven company solving a real and largely unsolved problem in commercial insurance.
  • Recognized platform actively deployed by many recognizable Fortune 1000 companies.
  • VC‑backed with strong growth trajectory and direct exposure to high‑impact strategic finance decisions.
  • Remote‑first culture with a collaborative, low‑bureaucracy operating environment.
  • Competitive base salary, performance‑based bonus, and equity participation.
