Role Description The Retirement Plan Administrator will manage the daily administration of employer-sponsored retirement plans, including both defined contribution and defined benefit plans. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Wausau, WI, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. Responsibilities include maintaining plan records, processing distributions, performing compliance and nondiscrimination testing, and preparing required plan reports and participant statements.
The role involves communicating with employers, participants, and financial institutions to answer questions, resolve issues, and ensure plans are administered in accordance with regulations and plan documents. The Retirement Plan Administrator will also support plan design updates, assist with annual plan reviews, and collaborate with internal accounting and finance teams to deliver accurate, timely service.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of retirement planning concepts, including plan design and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with defined contribution plans and related administration tasks.
- Customer service skills to effectively support employers and plan participants with clear, professional communication.
- Finance skills, including comfort with numerical analysis, reconciliations, and interpreting financial data.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills in managing multiple plans and deadlines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and retirement plan or accounting software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Familiarity with ERISA, IRS, and Department of Labor regulations is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
