Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings with private equity sponsors and borrowers to develop an understanding of the company.
  • Prepare and review materials including confidential investment memorandums, management/lender presentations and other documents.
  • Review third‑party diligence reports such as quality‑of‑earnings studies, industry/market studies, operational and environmental diligence.
  • Analyze financial statements, sponsor models and other relevant financial information to understand business trends, segment performance and customer growth.
  • Participate in the process for amendments, waivers, and restructurings of borrowers within the assigned portfolio.
  • Identify attributes that support the investment thesis and factors that pose risk; describe mitigating factors.
  • Perform industry research to understand macro trends and the competitive environment.
  • Create and write detailed investment memorandums outlining the opportunity.
  • Assist in reviewing legal documents to ensure the bank’s understanding of key business terms; work with external legal counsel to document final investment terms.
  • Actively monitor the assigned portfolio, participate in real‑time credit discussions and scheduled quarterly reviews.
  • Ensure timely receipt of deliverables and manage the credit file for the portfolio.
  • Support the activities of Banc Alliance, a network of community banks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required;
    Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics or another quantitative degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in public accounting, financial consulting, valuation, leveraged finance, investment banking or another finance/accounting area.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting, including financial statement analysis.
  • Understanding of debt‑finance products, risk management and credit quality across industry sectors.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Skill in synthesizing information from multiple sources and comprehending diverse viewpoints.
  • Strong Excel‑based modeling skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with CapitalIQ, Pitchbook, Bloomberg and other market‑data sources preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
  • Self‑motivated, self‑directed and results‑oriented.
  • Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Can work independently and within a team; solution‑oriented with a collaborative approach.
Position Requirements & Accommodations

Work is primarily conducted in an office setting with possible remote work at management discretion.
