About this Role

A Commercial Banking Assistant ensures the accuracy, timely processing, and completion of loan documents; up to and including all documents and due diligence reports associated with each credit facility, and works daily with both loan and deposit customers resolving issues satisfactorily.

In this Role You Will
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of credit and legal files for the loan department
  • Complete Loan Input Worksheets, input CIF information for new borrowers and guarantors, and copy documents for lender files; send original files to Loan Servicing
  • Review departmental reports along with other necessary and pertinent reporting to ensure accurate and complete information is added to systems and files; assist with follow-up items on an ongoing basis for exception items
  • Prepare loan draws when needed; wire transfers and deposit account transfers
  • Follow up on exception items, obtain borrower financial statements and other borrower reporting requirements
  • Work with relationship managers and customers to open the appropriate DDA accounts to suit the customer's needs; answer customer phone calls and service customer deposit accounts
  • Follow up with customers to ensure that services are set up in a timely manner
  • Cross-sell additional products to customers as the opportunity presents itself
  • Transfer funds to and from customer accounts upon request; complete wire transfers as instructed and handle line of credit disbursements and pay-downs with appropriate authorization
  • Provide customer service functions with regard to commercial loan accounts including stop payments, loan referrals, ordering checks, establishing credit cards, etc.
  • Open CDs and track CD maturity dates for further customer follow up
  • Balance Cash Items Report, Overdraft Report, and send in Activity Reports
  • Perform various administrative responsibilities for the Managing Director and Relationship Managers including, but not limited to: opening, sorting, and distributing mail, processing invoices, and creating and typing correspondence
Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, some college preferred; and 1-2 years commercial or retail deposit product knowledge, along with loan experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative assistant experience required
  • PC proficiency in a Windows environment is required; working knowledge of Word and Excel strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Friendly and strong orientation towards customer service, a must
Compensation Disclosure

The range for this role takes into account many factors that First Bank considers when making hiring decisions, including but not limited to prior experience, skill set, training, and other internal business and organizational factors. First Bank generally does not hire at or near the top of the stated range. The range is driven by the geographic location of the anticipated hiring location;

however, the specific range may vary depending on the geographic location for remote positions. Compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each hiring instance.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is $22.25 - $27.00
