Job DescriptionThe Director of Product Governance will represent product management and development in firm-wide initiatives, actively participating in the product team effort to maintain and improve the product line-up. The role involves regular interaction with the heads of Investment Management, General Counsel, Operations, and Risk to facilitate changes to investment products and to serve as a structural expert in delivery vehicles, including mutual funds, variable products, ETFs, and closed‑end funds.
Key Responsibilities- Secretariat of the Columbia Threadneedle Product Advisory Committee (PAC).
- Participate in business management issues such as 15C/pricing decisions.
- Host monthly product change/new product implementation meetings and communicate changes to existing products and new fund launches.
- Maintain all Product team process documents, including Product Management and Development Routines, PAC Charter, and Committee stakeholder readiness documents.
- Prepare the Investment Oversight Committee and the Columbia Funds Board.
- Lead high‑visibility governance activities, including portfolio manager changes and product responses to regulatory action.
- Coordinate revenue impacts with finance for strategy changes or product rationalizations.
- Own the portfolio manager change process, share‑class consolidations/additions, splits/reverse splits, fund mergers, product name changes, benchmark changes, mandate modifications and ETF conversions.
- Collaborate with 5P and Investment Risk Management on fund actions such as strategy changes or modifications.
- Manage the internal seed deployment/return process for NA Product.
- Represent the Product team in the continued development and expansion of Product Master Requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; experience using data to identify trends and develop solutions.
- Product experience, with a deep understanding of compliance rules and regulations for the assigned product and the ability to explain concepts to others.
- Project management experience.
- Series7 (or SIE and Series7 top‑off exam) and Series
66 (or Series
63&65 combined), or the ability to obtain these within a defined period.
Applicants must have a valid work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship for employment in the United States.
Compensation & BenefitsBase salary: $147,400–$180,100 per year, with variable pay components (bonus, commissions, long‑term incentives) and a comprehensive benefits program including vacation, sick leave, 401(k), health, dental and life insurance.
Work Location & CollaborationEmployees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in‑office time.
