Responsibilities
  • Assist in tracking and management of the loan pipeline, loan maturities, uninsured reports, and past-dues reports, ensuring timely processing and adherence to deadlines.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet processing goals and customer expectations.
  • Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants to cover PTO requests and absences.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all state and federal lending and documentation regulations, as well as bank policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance.
  • Collect and organize all necessary documentation from borrowers (e.g., income verification, credit reports, identification).
  • Input data into loan processing systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Order title searches, UCC searches, appraisals, and flood certifications as needed.
  • Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, insurance agents, and clients.
  • Initiate the disbursement of closing funds and issue loan proceeds via checks and/or wires.
  • Review closed and funded loans for document completion; ensure loans are booked in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Contact settlement agents, recorder of deeds, and title insurance agencies to obtain post-purchase documentation as necessary.
  • Maintain a tickler system on outstanding post-closing documentation (collateral and exception monitoring) and report status during weekly meetings.
  • Engage in lender/customer support with clear and effective communication to a higher number of lenders (up to 2-3) and other stakeholders throughout the loan process.
  • Provide exceptional client service by assisting with questions and requests for information; notify clients of issues or discrepancies and assist in resolving them.
  • Act as a Culture Champion by advocating for the company values and delivering prompt, efficient, and exceptional customer service; build internal and external relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the company’s core values and maintain a strong work ethic, focusing on deadlines and achieving department goals.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or additional coursework in banking, finance, or lending is an asset.
  • Experience:

    3-4 years of experience in commercial lending documentation; 3-4 years of Loan Assistant I or comparable experience.
Training Requirements

Required annual compliance training and New Employee Orientation.

Physical Demands

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer and may involve sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

Work Environment

Work may occur in a cubicle or private office environment that can be loud. Telecommuting roles, if applicable, require a secure home office environment free from background noise and distractions, with a reliable private internet connection (not cellular hot spots). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change as new systems and technology are delivered.

Travel

Travel may be required to meet with lenders and/or clients. Additional travel may be required for all-hands meetings, career development, site visits, or acquisition/merger support.
