Are you passionate about sustainability and ready to play a key role in managing Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) risks at ABN AMRO? Are you interested in developing analytical skills related to climate, pollution, biodiversity, human rights or animal rights risks? The ABN AMRO Sustainability Risk team is looking for an intern to support clients in their financial decisions and create long‑term value.

ABN AMRO is a leading Dutch bank with an international presence. The Sustainability Risk team is part of Risk Management and manages ESG related risks. We work closely with internal experts and external sustainability specialists to co‑create and fulfil data needs. Our team consists of senior and junior professionals with a mix of ESG, risk management, and data skills.
Your job?You will become part of the Sustainability Risk team and provide support on one or more topics the team is working on. Examples of responsibilities:
- Translate developments in science and societal issues into actions for the bank
- Support the evaluation of the materiality of ESG events on the bank’s profitability and reputation
- Address policy requirements to limit biodiversity loss for our lending activities
- Conduct transition or physical risk heat mapping
- Enhance ESG sector and country rating methodologies
- Facilitate ESG data sourcing and storage
- Implement sustainability regulations

- BSc/MSc student
- Available for approximately 6 months
- Knowledge of or affinity with environmental, social and governance related risks
- Curious and analytical – able to identify, deconstruct and solve problems
- Proactive, communicative and independent – take initiative and ask for assistance when needed
- Professional working proficiency in English;
Dutch is strongly preferred - Team‑player – collaborates easily with colleagues
