Role Description The Fractional CFO is a part-time, hybrid role based in Singapore, with a mix of onsite collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for overseeing financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance reporting. The Fractional CFO will design and refine financial controls, policies, and processes to support a growing medical distribution business, and will advise on capital structure, banking relationships, and funding options.
Day-to-day tasks include reviewing monthly financials, identifying risks and opportunities, guiding cost optimization, and providing data-driven recommendations to the leadership team. The Fractional CFO will also support strategic initiatives such as market expansion, product portfolio decisions, and potential partnerships or M&A activities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting within small to mid-sized companies, ideally in healthcare, medical devices, or distribution.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, analysis of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, and the ability to translate financial data into clear strategic insights.
- Experience developing and implementing internal controls, financial policies, and compliance processes relevant to regional and international operations.
- Background in treasury, cash management, and banking relationships, with knowledge of capital planning and financing options suitable for growing businesses.
- Comfort with ERP/accounting systems, spreadsheets, and business intelligence tools; ability to streamline financial workflows and improve data quality.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate with founders, commercial leaders, and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a concise, actionable way.
- Relevant academic background such as a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a fractional, part-time, or consulting CFO capacity, and comfort working in a hybrid model based in Singapore.
