Role Description This full-time Mortgage Loan Officer role is a hybrid position based in Charleston County, SC, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the schedule. The Mortgage Loan Officer will originate residential mortgage loans, guide borrowers through the loan application process, and provide clear, timely communication from initial consultation through closing. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, evaluating their financial profiles, recommending appropriate loan products, collecting and reviewing documentation, and coordinating with processors, underwriters, and closing agents.

The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with real estate professionals and other referral partners, staying current on mortgage industry guidelines and regulations, and using company tools and systems to manage pipelines and ensure compliance. The Mortgage Loan Officer is expected to meet production goals while delivering consistent, high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in roles related to Loan Officers, including originating and managing residential mortgage files.
• Strong understanding of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including loan products, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of Underwriting standards and documentation requirements to structure and submit complete, accurate files.
• Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and support borrowers throughout the loan process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information in a straightforward manner.
• Ability to manage multiple files at once, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with common mortgage origination software, CRM systems, and basic office tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets).
• Track record of building and maintaining referral relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other partners is preferred.
• Relevant state licensing as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), including NMLS registration, or the ability to obtain required licensing before start.
• Experience in the SC housing market or similar regional markets is a plus.
