POSITION SUMMARY
Provides consultative services to members regarding credit union products and services by assessing member needs. Assists members in establishing memberships, loan accounts, share accounts, and savings services, completing necessary documents, performing data entry, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Processes member transactions and serves as the first point of contact between the credit union and members. Promotes member engagement by providing accurate, timely information on products and services and actively referring members to appropriate Wescom offerings.
ESSENTIALPOSITION FUNCTIONS
Consistently delivers a high level of service and is committed to increasing member satisfaction by using a consultative approach in all interactions. Demonstrates adherence to branch service standards and the enforcement of Wescom’s Mission Statement, Vision, Core Values and Team Attributes. Acts as an advocate to resolve member issues at the first point of contact and focuses on delivering a positive member experience.
Regularly performs platform and teller activities, including:
- Providing consistent support to both the platform and operations as determined by business needs.
- Maintaining proficiency in technologies available to members, including mobile, contact, and online banking services.
- Conducting wellness calls from pre‑approval and engagement lists.
- Responding promptly to member, department, and branch management inquiries.
- Identifying and facilitating Wescom product and service referrals in collaboration with business partners.
- Referencing and assisting members with auto/personal loan and credit card pre‑approval offers.
- Identifying, mitigating, and reporting potential fraudulent activity.
- Producing high quality, accurate work with minimal errors.
- Applying the CON2
ECT model to build relationships, identify member needs, and refer members to business partners such as Financial Services, Insurance Services, Real Estate, and Auto Land. - Executing day‑to‑day transactions for deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, and providing account‑related assistance.
- Processing applications for consumer loan products, including auto loans, credit cards, unsecured lines of credit, and optionally home equity loans.
- Performing fiduciary processes such as trusts, fiduciary accounts, power of attorney, and notary public services.
- Contributing to growth objectives through needs‑based conversations and achieving assigned individual and branch production goals.
- Supporting branches in audit and security compliance, and maintaining confidential member data.
- Managing cash drawer control, balancing standards, and verifying signatures.
Member Service Representative III (MSR II) eligibility may be pursued upon approval by Branch Management and relevant supervisory personnel, requiring licensure in either life insurance and fixed annuities (option I) or property and casualty insurance (option II).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLSHigh School graduate. Previous financial industry and customer service experience preferred. Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration and Notary Public license are required. Maintain these credentials throughout employment. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and credit union operating and specialized systems. Strong mathematical abilities including basic calculations, rates, ratios, and percentages. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, lifting up to 10 pounds, and visual requirements such as close, distance, and color vision.
Work environment is moderately quiet, non‑smoking, and requires professional appearance and punctuality.
