As a Senior Trading Assistant on the Institutional Trading Support team, you will provide a high quality of service to clients and provide support to multiple trading desks both in NY and internationally.
This role supports critical post-trade activities across Fixed Income, including trade lifecycle event management, and reconciliation activities. The successful candidate will work closely with global stakeholders, middle office teams, and operations to ensure accurate processing, strong controls, and effective operational support.

Your role- Provide excellent client service and share operational capital market expertise with nstitutional clients
- Act as a point of escalation for complex client or internal issues, providing guidance and effective solutions
- Work closely with the Onboarding team to create accounts and sub accounts in booking systems
- Participate in projects to improve workflow efficiency, reporting, documentation, and operational controls and ensure business continuity
- Work with internal stakeholders regarding new business initiatives and internal governance processes
- Cover vacations in Montreal and London with potential occasional travel or coverage during London hours of 4:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Flexibility to work extended hours to support deals / transactions when required
You will be part of the Global FICC Trading Support Team, working closely with FICC Sales and trading, reporting to the Director, Business Management, (based out of Toronto). This business supports institutional clients globally, primarily across Americas, Europe & Asia, and across mostly USD and CAD denominated products. You will potentially support multiple asset classes and travel to international offices.
As part of the overall NY team and business, you will become an integral part of National Bank Capital Markets’ New York based trading floor. The trading floor environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring you to effectively process information while managing settlement of transactions in a constantly changing market environment. The successful candidate will need to adapt to these conditions with creativity, energy and an entrepreneurial spirit to meet the evolving demands of he marketplace.
This is an on-site office role with flexibility to work from home occasionally.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics or a related field
- Good knowledge of Capital Markets and middle office processes
- Strong client service, communication, analytical & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively independently, in a team and under pressure
- Series 99 required within 90 days of employment
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
- Knowledge of systems such as Bloomberg, Broadridge, CTM, CDS & DTC is an asset
The base salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $100,000
This position is also eligible for variable compensation. The amounts indicated in this job offer are in U.S. dollars.
