What you'll do

The Loan Operations Specialist II provides general support in all areas of the Loan Operations department and ensures accuracy on all loan records and documents. They are responsible for performing loan maintenance for all loan types including recasts and payment adjustments. They are to provide superior service to internal and external members and promote member relationships that exceed expectations.

  • Consistently meet daily department demands and promote member satisfaction, retention and expansion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all consumer loan criteria as well as all current Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing current processes, procedures, and policies in order to identify and recommend necessary updates.
  • Review files for complete documents needed to perfect liens.
  • Perfect liens on auto loans, HELOC loans, and other secured loans with government agencies.
  • Ensure all documents are recorded within department service level agreements.
  • Process all lien releases on paid in full HELOCs.
  • Evaluate and process HELOC subordination requests from other lenders.
  • Monitor MLA, SCRA, and Soldiers & Sailors Act compliance.
  • Perform complex research requiring problem solving using knowledge of loan products.
  • Perform loan maintenance (recasts and payment adjustments for all loan types).
  • Review month end reconciliations and loan maintenance reports.
  • Request and process GAP refunds to members with early auto loan payoffs.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, appropriate tracking and measurement of department activity and results.
  • Provide a high level of service, consistency, and professionalism by delivering Canvas Credit Union Core Values to both internal and external members and business partners.
  • Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of departmental, branch and organizational goals.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively in teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Credit and loan product knowledge with working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to lending practices.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Canvas Credit Union financial products and services.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customers and business partners.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, multi-task and prioritize workflow.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to maintain confidences.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.
  • Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, sex offender, and global sanctions).

Education or Formal Training:
High school diploma or GED

Experience:

Six months’ proven customer service experience.
