RLD Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Premium Auditor to join our growing team as an Independent Contractor (1099). This remote opportunity is responsible for servicing the Hot Springs, AR territory.
As a Premium Auditor, you will be conducting physical field audits at insured locations throughout your assigned territory, allowing you to work directly with business owners and observe operations firsthand.
In addition to field assignments, auditors have opportunities to supplement their workload with hybrid audits completed entirely from a home office using phone interviews, email correspondence, and electronic document review. This combination provides flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to increase earnings based on the amount of work you choose to complete.
What You'll DoCommercial insurance premiums for Workers' Compensation and General Liability policies are often based on estimated payroll, sales, and other exposures. As a Premium Auditor, you will verify actual exposures at the end of a policy period by reviewing financial records, conducting client interviews, and performing either on-site or remote audits.
Your work will consist primarily of:
Physical AuditsConducted at client business locations where records are reviewed in person and operations are observed firsthand.
Hybrid AuditsCompleted entirely from your home office using phone interviews, virtual meetings, and electronic records provided by the insured.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals who enjoy working independently, building relationships with business owners, and spending time in the field while maintaining the flexibility to complete additional audits remotely.
Key Responsibilities- Review assigned audit requests, including Workers' Compensation and General Liability policies
- Manage and prioritize a territory-based audit inventory
- Contact insureds to schedule audit appointments and maintain professional communication throughout the audit process
- Conduct on-site and virtual audits of business operations and financial records
- Examine payroll records, tax filings, general ledgers, cash disbursements, and other accounting documents
- Research and apply insurance classification and rating rules in accordance with carrier guidelines and industry standards
- Interview business owners and key personnel to obtain accurate exposure information
- Prepare detailed and professional audit reports utilizing Microsoft Excel and proprietary systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service while representing RLD Associates and our carrier clients
This position is responsible for the Hot Springs, AR territory
- Workload consists of physical field audits throughout the assigned territory
- Opportunities are available to supplement your workload with hybrid audits completed entirely from your home office
- Physical audits require travel throughout the assigned territory, which may include locations within approximately a 60-mile radius of Hot Springs, AR
- Workload and travel volume will vary based on assignment availability and the amount of work you elect to accept

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounting, auditing, or commercial insurance
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Self-motivated, dependable, and highly professional
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other business software
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
