The Role:

Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Senior Asset Manager with 5+ years of experience maximizing investment performance and regulatory compliance. Expert in managing complex LIHTC portfolios, multi-tier partnership structures, and fund-level tax returns. Proven leader in collaboration with investors, syndicators, and developers to safeguard Section 42 compliance and optimize tax credit delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver strategic asset management to owners and funders of affordable housing of properties that operate under the LIHTC, Public Housing, RAD, HOME, and Project Based Section 8 programs
  • Oversee complex LIHTC investments, cost certifications, and IRS Form 8609 documentation
  • Oversight of project construction and lease-up Review audited financial statements, partnership tax returns, and financial models
  • Deliver timely, accurate reporting to institutional investors, developers, and CPAs
  • Ensure strict Section 42 regulatory compliance and minimize asset risk
  • Collaborate with a team of Asset Managers to optimize internal financial operational processes
  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate property management, management plan, and physical condition of properties
  • Oversee equity releases from construction through 8609 issuance
  • Manage the Year 15 LIHTC compliance period exit, analyzing K-1 capital accounts to project and mitigate investor exit tax liabilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of multifamily real estate asset management experience
  • Deep knowledge of the affordable housing regulatory framework
  • In depth knowledge of benefits schedules and tax returns
  • Expert at internal and external stakeholder collaboration
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and spreadsheet modeling
  • MS Excel and Word proficient
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to travel as needed
