They keep people and projects running smoothly, ensuring every part of our business is provided for and well taken care of.

The Sr. Accountant provides detailed analysis of cash flow to prepare a reliable cash forecast. Provides detailed analysis of intercompany activities in order to facilitate cash transfers and hedge gain/loss. Maintains Treasury Management Software (Sungard). Monitors daily balances in all Corporate and Retail store bank accounts. Communicates with associates in our New York and Italian offices along with various departments at the Home Office.

Facilitates all cash transfers made from the Home Office – both domestically and internationally.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creates cash flow forecast and analyze results. Works with multiple functional areas and how their activity affects the ending cash balances.
  • Analyzes and reports cross currency intracompany balances weekly, and calculate cash transfers.
  • Maintains interface between Treasury Management Software (Sungard) and SAP - ensures all electronic bank files are loaded properly, and all journal exports are free of errors; maps new accounts and any requested journal changes.
  • Trains and develops direct reports.
  • Ensures proper separations of duties are implemented with initiation and approval of all cash transfers along with obtaining proper approvals.
  • Maintains effective and ongoing communication with key customers, which include home office departments, New York and Italian offices, and banking partners.
  • Acts as the co-system administrator for corporate online banks.
  • Assists in special projects as requested by management.
  • Maintains a general working knowledge of GAAP and current trends and techniques.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of mainframe computers and systems in general, with emphasis on banking software (Sungard), and general ledger (SAP).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years accounting/finance experience
  • Proficiency with personal computers and spreadsheet applications
  • Treasury Knowledge – understanding of Treasury products and trends for corporations.
  • Ability to communicate and operate effectively in a fast-paced organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrates ability to see the big picture and think outside the box.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problems/pursue business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Accounting or Business degree preferred
  • 3+ years treasury/cash management experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience
