- Consumer Lending (Contract)
Hiring Type: Temporary, approximately 3+ months with potential for extension
Location: Remote
Pay: $30-35 a hour
Our client is seeking a Dispute Complaints Investigator
- Consumer Lending to join their team on a contract basis. This role has opened up to provide additional support as the department works toward a key team goal, with additional headcount needed to help drive results. This is a fully remote position.
- 3+ years of experience in complaints/dispute resolution, ideally within commercial lending or loan servicing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud investigation, conducting complex investigations (preferably in a corporate or financial institution setting) required
- Strong working knowledge of lending and servicing regulations, particularly FCRA and UDAAP; familiarity with some or all of the following a plus:
Reg Z, TILA, SCRA, OFAC, BSA/AML - Comfortable reviewing loan and financial transaction information
- Ability to see patterns, trends, and spot suspicious behavior
- Proficient in utilizing data analysis tools and techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends indicative of fraudulent activities
- Proficient in conducting online investigative research using search engines and open-source intelligence techniques
- Strong knowledge of complaint handling, fraud detection, and prevention techniques, with a solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Ability to present complex findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High ethical standards and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout investigations
- Experience with fraud detection software and knowledge of relevant technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Lexis Nexis, Snowflake, SQL, Data Tree, Emailage
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred, but not required
- Experience with fraud or complaint handling in the solar industry preferred, but not required
- Experience with investigation tools:
Lexis Nexis, Data Tree, Emailage, analytical data, and others
- Investigate, respond to, and resolve routine and high-risk borrower complaints, including BBB complaints, serving as a primary point of accountability for dispute resolution
- Investigate and solve fraud cases using various tools available:
Lexis Nexis, Data Tree, Emailage, analytical data, and others - Gather and analyze evidence, employing a variety of investigative techniques, such as loan material review, forensic accounting, call listening, data analysis, and interviews, to uncover fraudulent schemes and identify responsible parties
- Perform investigations at the direction of internal and external counsel, and draft first-pass legal responses and recommendations
- Assist with training and aid vendor team supporting fraud and complaint investigations
- Execute on special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
