Asset Liability Management Director

Oversees (ALM) Asset Liability Management, audit, investments, real estate, risk, and insurance activities.

Serves on the Asset Liability Committee and implements strategies as recommended by the Committee and as approved by the Board of Directors.

Assists the Chief Administrative Officer and Accounting Manager in the preparation of financial reports; ensures complete accurate financial, statistical, and accounting records

Directs the investment activities as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.

Works with ALM Consultant to review and prepare reports for committee and board review.

Works directly with auditors and examiners on year end and comprehensive audits.

Oversees reporting to regulatory authorities and to the Board.

Formulates and executes investment policy; prepares financial forecasts

Directs preparation and evaluation of budgets and capital plans: directs receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money and or capital assets.

Analyzes department budgets and allocates operating budget.

Reviews operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs. Reviews vendor contract terms and conditions, to ensure vendor is meeting all obligations under contract.

Implements and reviews risk management initiatives.

Writes, reviews, and distributes financial policy and procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.

Provides safekeeping, control, and accounting for assets and securities.

Develops new business relationships and maintains or increases business with current key partnerships by making personal contacts.

Education & Experience:

Either a masters degree, or a bachelors degree plus professional certification (e.g. CPA).

Eight to ten years of similar or related experience.

Interpersonal Skills:

Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.
