The Treasury Accountant supports activities of the Finance Department by performing specialized administrative, accounting and financial reporting tasks related to the CNI treasury function. This remote position assists the Controller in liquidity management, bank reconciliations, electronic payment processing, cash flow forecasting, bank fee analysis, treasury reporting, and other related accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily cash positioning, manage daily liquidity between accounts, and prepare daily cash reports.
- Conduct monthly bank reporting and execute wire transfers and payment processing accurately and timely.
- Coordinate opening, maintenance, and closure of bank accounts and maintain strong relationships with financial service providers.
- Assist with letters of credit, research unclaimed property matters, and monitor investment opportunities to maximize surplus returns.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including quarterly bank compliance certificates.
- Provide information for external and internal audits, documenting treasury activities and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve workflow and data accuracy, and ensure integration of treasury tools with other financial systems.
- Apply knowledge of bank products and regulatory compliance to support treasury functions.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency with TMSs, ERP systems, and accounting and treasury principles.
- Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Two to five (2‑5) years of experience in treasury, finance, accounting, or related roles.
- Experience with Costpoint and banking portals preferred.
- Preferred certifications: MBA, CTP, CPA, CFA.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit, use hands and arms to handle objects, operate a computer, and speak and hear. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Compensation & BenefitsEstimated pay range: $58,000 to $65,000.
