Unique Opportunity to make an impact in private equity globally
Would you like to be part of an international team that manages a global portfolio of fund and co-investments? PGGM Private Equity is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to complement the team. With your strong data skills you deliver insights that contribute to portfolio construction and monitoring.
You will primarily support the Private Equity team in data-driven initiatives, but will also get the opportunity to work on real investments. In this role you will:
- Collect, gather and aggregate 3D-data to derive new insights that will contribute to portfolio construction and monitoring;
- Contribute to the development of process automation and process design of data-intensive processes;
- Analyze a broad range of 3D data to detect potential risks and opportunities in the Private Equity portfolio and to measure the 3D performance of funds, individual assets or on aggregated Private Equity level;
- Conduct own research on a wide range of topics to further push the envelope in relation to 3D investing. You can pro-actively propose initiatives based on your analyses and research.
- Support the team in performing due diligence on new investments (fund, co- and secondary investments), including financial modeling, review of investment documentation, performance analysis, benchmark analysis and preparation of investment proposals;
- Support the team with monitoring the existing portfolio in regular internal reports and meetings.
- Manage part of the legacy portfolio that consists of ~15 funds
You will be based in the Private Equity department of PGGM and part of the Portfolio Management team. The Private Equity team consists of 30+ FTEs of which 5 are in the Portfolio Management team. The Portfolio Management team has a key role within the Private Equity team and interacts regularly with other departments like TPM, MM, IT, Back-Office and Reporting.
The Private Equity team is diverse, young, ambitious, international and will continue to grow over the next years. The team is based in PGGM's office in Zeist, The Netherlands.
- Max. 2 years of working experience;
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Econometrics or a related field;
- Strong interest in technology and IT-related topics with experience with programming in Python, SQL and/or VBA, or similar. Experience with Power BI is a plus;
- Strong interest in Private Equity with relevant (internship) experience;
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people across the organization including IT departments, investment managers, risk managers, etc.
- Solid work ethic and motivation level;
- Fluency in English both verbally and in writing is prerequisite.
