Mortgage Loan Associate
Creates, collects, analyzes, exercises judgment, and advises members on mortgage loan options. Maintains organization of portfolio and meets necessary and regulatory deadlines. Assists and serves as a backup to the Mortgage Loan Officer & Processing area in all aspects of the mortgage origination process.

Pay range for this hourly position is $32.60 - $38.11/hr with a progressive benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
- Adhering to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards
- Demonstrating a positive member service focus
- Demonstrating teamwork in all interactions
- Ensuring confidentiality of member information
- Supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Conducting mortgage loan application interviews
- Gathering all required applicant information
- Assisting loan processing with files when needed
- Fielding and returning phone calls and emails for Mortgage Loan Officers
- Following up with referrals, scheduling initial appointments, and answering member questions
- Ordering appraisal and credit report to support the loan application
- Organizing file in appropriate order and submitting full application to processing team
- Working with Underwriters in meeting their guidelines and obtaining loan approval
- Ensuring all necessary documentation and regulatory compliance items are in loan files
- Promoting Green State mortgage products and Green State with their contacts in the community
- Working with mortgage processing department to ensure final documentation is received by the investors in a timely manner
- Working file post conditional approval to communicate with member and collect remaining documents to satisfy conditions
- Regularly communicating with members and agents to provide status updates
- Organizing weekly follow up on loans in process to increase conversion percentage
- Preparing web applications for Mortgage Loan Officer to review and scheduling member's initial appointment
- Serving as back up to Mortgage Loan Officer when they are out of the office
- Assisting in any necessary training and development needed within the Green State Mortgage Loan department
- Adhering to all state, federal and credit union regulations, policies, and guidelines
- Adhering to company standards and expectations of Work from Home guidelines
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years previous related work experience
- Knowledge of procedures, forms, secondary market guidelines and regulations as they relate to mortgage lending
- Ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently
- Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union in a positive way during member contact
- Accuracy and attention to detail required
- Ability to operate related computer applications
- Ability to collaborate with realtors and other referral sources on initial and follow up conversations regarding the initial application and general mortgage questions
- Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with members and co-workers on a professional level
- Must be bondable
- Must be a registered pursuant to requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act
This position reports to the Director Mortgage Sales Support.
